{"id":8701,"date":"2019-05-23T10:31:48","date_gmt":"2019-05-23T17:31:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/myuctv.tv\/?p=8701"},"modified":"2019-05-23T10:31:48","modified_gmt":"2019-05-23T17:31:48","slug":"carta-at-10","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.myuctv.tv\/blog\/science\/carta-at-10\/","title":{"rendered":"CARTA at 10"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uctv.tv\/carta-10th\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uctv.tv\/images\/series\/widescreen\/982.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" class=\"alignright\" \/><\/a>More than 20 years ago, a small group of La Jolla academics began periodic meetings for transdisciplinary discussions on explaining the origin of humans &#8211; anthropogeny &ndash; an effort which has blossomed into an international intellectual collaborative organized by UC San Diego and the Salk Institute as the Center for Academic Research and Training in Anthropogeny &ndash; CARTA.<\/p>\n<p>At the formal opening of CARTA just over 10 years ago a group of CARTA leaders and advisors attempted to &ldquo;define the agenda.&rdquo; Since then, much additional relevant information has emerged, and an expanded group of experts now revisits the agenda by addressing the following questions on a broad array of selected topics: <em>What do we know for certain? What do we think we know? What do we need to know?
